Go on an exciting hike through hidden vineyards, historical sites and enjoy picturesque views of the breathtaking landscape of Radebeul.
On your way, you will discover old vineyard walls and terraces hidden behind dense trees that bear witness to the once flourishing wine culture. After the phylloxera plague in the late 19th century, these vineyards were abandoned and nature has reclaimed its space. Numerous adventure stations along the trail document this "vineyard in transition".
From the Albrechtshöhe, you can enjoy a fascinating view over the Dresden Heath, the Dresden TV tower and as far as Saxon Switzerland. At the traditional "Graue Presse" estate , a display board provides information about the historic wine press, which you can still marvel at today in the Hoflößnitz Wine Museum.
Continue along the enchanted Straken forest path, where you can see the remains of Radebeul's historic water supply. From the lower hollow path, you can see the Steinerne Schnecke, an old stone construction from the 17th century that used to be a thief and fire station and is now the landmark of the "Drei Herren" winery. The route continues through Oberlößnitz, where Radebeul presents its most beautiful side. Historic winegrowers' houses and sights accompany you on your way through the idyllic vineyard landscape.
A highlight is the historic vineyard house "Spitzhaus", which today houses a panoramic restaurant. From the sun terrace, you have an impressive view of the "Goldener Wagen" vineyard and far beyond Radebeul. Right next to it is the Bismarck Tower, from whose platform you can also enjoy an impressive view. Follow the Spitzhaustreppe downhill through the centre of the vineyard. The Hoflößnitz vineyard is home to the Saxon Wine Museum. Here you can learn more about the history of Saxon viticulture and the work of the Radebeul winegrowers. On the wine terrace, you can enjoy a glass of wine in a relaxed atmosphere, which comes exclusively from organic cultivation at Hoflößnitz. There is also a tourist information point here.
Finally, stroll along the Weinbergstraße, where wineries, romantic wine farms and ostrich taverns are lined up one after the other and whose winegrowers invite you to themed wine tastings and vineyard tours.
Via Eduard-Bilz-Straße with its lovingly restored Ziller houses, you reach your starting point at Eduard-Bild-Platz.
