Art goes into gardens 2026

"Art does not reproduce the visible, but makes visible."

Paul Klee

For the seventh time in Radebeul, we are inviting you to "Kunst geht in Gärten", the extraordinary event format that was launched in 2020 and has enjoyed steadily growing popularity ever since. On a journey of discovery through Radebeul's gardens, visitors are encouraged to engage intensively with visual art with all their senses outside of galleries and museums. Each KunstGarten tells its own story, with artistic positions relating to the respective location in an exciting way, opening up new perspectives and inspiring encounters.

Wander through the familiar landscape of Lößnitz, from the city limits of Dresden up to the vineyards near Coswig. There are new places to discover again this year: the F4 ꓲ ARTenreich garden, the Seitz, Tresp and Herzog gardens, the young artists' collective "Seven Hells" at the White House and the garden of the Kötzschenbroda primary school, where pupils will be showing their works of art, will be taking part for the first time. On Saturday, the garden of the legendary Villa Kolbe, an enchanted place that is currently being kissed awake again, will also open its doors.

Artists will be guests everywhere with their works, can experience the interplay of nature and their art for themselves and look forward to stimulating conversations with visitors. Travelling musicians will complement the garden arts. There will also be art events and additional musical programmes at various locations.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the participating organisations, the garden owners, the numerous artists and the musicians who offer art and sounds for an experience for the senses. We would especially like to thank the Meißen-Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge cultural region, which provides significant support for the project. This made it possible to put together another varied programme.
