Redevelopment area "Centre Radebeul-West"

The focus of Radebeul’s urban development strategy is the creation of two functionally and structurally vibrant town centres: Radebeul-West and Radebeul-Ost. Since 2003, the Radebeul-Ost district centre has developed into a vibrant commercial and cultural hub, thanks to a combination of regeneration measures and urban development funding. The Radebeul-West centre was unable to achieve this development under its own steam.

Against a backdrop of significant functional shortcomings and urban planning deficiencies, the town of Radebeul has therefore declared the regeneration of the western district centre a priority. The designation of a regeneration area in this part of the town is intended to help strengthen the West Centre. Funding from the urban development scheme is to be used to rectify urban planning shortcomings and to stimulate private investment.

Consequently, on 16 March 2016, the Radebeul Town Council approved the >> Resolution No. SR 19/16-14/19 "Statutes on the formal designation of the regeneration area "Radebeul-West Centre" and application for inclusion in the Federal-State Programme "Active Town and District Centres" (SOP)" were adopted. Following its publication in the Official Gazette in September 2016, the by-law came into force on 1 September 2016.
