Renovation work and closure of the Lößnitzgrund footpath alongside the Lößnitzgrund railway line

The Lößnitzgrund walking trail along the Lößnitzgrund Railway
From Monday 19 October 2026, a section of path in the Lößnitzgrund along the narrow-gauge railway will be renovated. The work is due to be completed by the end of November.
The section, approximately 270 metres long, is situated between the bridge over Meiereiweg and the access road to Lößnitzgrundstraße 128. Work will involve laying a water-bound surface, installing angled retaining walls on either side to bridge the differences in ground level, constructing steps leading to the stream bridge, and erecting a fence to mark the boundary with the railway line.
This is intended to ensure the safe use of this heavily used path in future.
The work is being carried out by Hasse Transport GmbH. The construction costs amount to approximately €85,300.
The footpath will be closed in the aforementioned area whilst the works are in progress.
