Experience the Saxon Wine Route

Did you know that here in Dresden we are the captains of the oldest and largest paddle steamer fleet? Yes, superlatives are a Saxon talent. This applies not only to the aforementioned river giants, but also to our prominent passion for pleasure, alcoholised grape juice. Europe's first adventure winery and Saxony's oldest sparkling wine cellar are just a stone's throw away from the steamers' home harbour.

Your journey begins in Dresden and takes you along the Saxon vineyards to Radebeul. Our tour guide will take you on a stroll through the tranquil district of Altkötzschenbroda and lovingly restored vineyards. The destination of the experience is Wackerbarth Castle: after refreshments, you will learn a secret or two about wine and sparkling wine production during a guided tour and tasting.
