Film screening of "Fassaden" to mark the Day Against Violence Against Women
You are warmly invited to the screening of the film “Fassaden” on 26 November 2026 at 6 pm at the Radebeul Kultur-Bahnhof, to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November.
In her documentary *Fassaden*, Alina Cyranek sheds light on what women experience in toxic relationships, the impact that violence has on their lives, and how they find a way out and seek help.
In *Fassaden*, Sandra Hüller tells the story of a woman who breaks free from a long-standing abusive relationship, as well as of a political and social system that prefers to look the other way. The film reveals the power structures hidden behind the façades and how the state fails to protect women adequately. The narrative has been condensed from four real-life accounts into a single story to preserve the women’s anonymity. All the events actually took place as described; nothing is fictional. FASSADEN is not an easy film to watch, but rather a challenge for the audience. Domestic violence and the associated statistics are brutal, harrowing and physical. FASSADEN reflects all of this in its form; it is radical and uncompromising.
