"The places have always been there" - Geology - Archaeology - Fine arts

Exhibition from 8 September to 20 October 2024

Until 20 October, the Stadtgalerie Radebeul presented this year's joint exhibition "The places have always been there" - 570 million years to the present day - Geology - Archaeology - Fine Arts.

The occasion for the project is the town charter anniversaries "100 years of the town charter of Kötzschenbroda and Radebeul". 49 artists from Radebeul and the surrounding area will be exploring the history and current affairs of the Lößnitz town. A special feature is the participation of the Museum of Mineralogy and Geology Dresden of the Senckenberg Foundations with numerous exhibits and an overview map. The period under consideration begins around 570 million years ago. In addition, an excursion into archaeology goes back to around 4,000 years ago. The State Office for Archaeology of Saxony provided the gallery with, among other things, a find from an urn grave on Dürer/Melanchthon Str. - because these places have always been there!
