World Children’s Day 2026
03.09.2026
Children’s Festival at the Radebeul Kultur-Bahnhof on Wednesday 16 September 2026 from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm
Under the motto ‘Strong children, strong future’, World Children’s Day will be celebrated on 16 September 2026 with a public children’s festival in Radebeul. Families, children and anyone interested
are warmly invited to enjoy a varied afternoon together and to learn about children’s rights, talents and ideas.
A special highlight is the open stage, where children can showcase their talents – whether singing, dancing, playing music, performing acrobatics, reciting poems or other creative contributions. The programme will be hosted by a child from Year 2. Anyone who’d like to showcase their talent in front of an audience can sign up at their nursery or after-school club, or simply take to the stage on the day of the festival. Everyone is encouraged to take part.
There is also plenty to discover away from the stage. Numerous hands-on stalls invite children to have a go and get creative. Children can have temporary tattoos applied, design bracelets, take part in various interactive activities or test their accuracy at the football goal. An ice-cream van offers a delicious treat.
The event is organised jointly by the town of Radebeul and the independent organisations Kinderarche Sachsen e.V., the German Child Protection Association, Volksolidarität Elbtalkreis-Meißen e.V., the German Red Cross (DRK) and Unicef Dresden. Also in attendance will be the Saxon Children’s and Youth Commissioner, Susann Rüthrich, and the Deputy Mayor, Silvio Kockentiedt.
