Traffic routing during the Karl May Festival

Road closures and the associated diversions and stopping restrictions will once again be necessary for this year's Karl May Festival from 15 May 2026 to 17 May 2026. It is expressly pointed out that the stopping bans must always be observed for reasons of public safety and order. The use of public transport is therefore particularly recommended.

Lößnitzgrundstraße will be fully closed to vehicle traffic for the preparatory work and for the festival itself from 15 May 2026, 06:00 to 17 May 2026, 06:00.

Due to the difficult parking situation, we strongly recommend travelling by public transport. A limited number of parking spaces are available at the Technical Town Hall on Pestalozzistraße and in the car park / multi-storey car park at Radebeul-Ost railway station. From Radebeul-Ost railway station, you can take the Lößnitzgrundbahn to the festival grounds (stop: Weißes Roß); this journey is included in the festival ticket.

Further car parks are located at the Karl May Museum on Schumannstraße and at the Bilzbad on Meiereiweg.

On Sunday (17 May 2026), the traditional star rider parade will take place from around 10.30 am to around 12.30 pm on Meißner Straße near the "Weißes Roß" small railway crossing. Meißner Straße will be closed to traffic for a short period of time. Motorists should therefore drive well clear of the area. A diversion will be signposted.
