New activities for children at Radebeul Town Library

10.07.2026

In addition to the popular ‘Experience Week’ during the final week of the school holidays, Radebeul Municipal Library is offering two new programmes for children and young people at the Radebeul-Ost branch, Sidoniestraße 1c.

From 27 July to 31 July, the “The DAVE EXPERIENCE” project offers young music enthusiasts the chance to experience electronic music production first-hand. This free series of workshops is aimed at children and young people aged between 12 and 17. Experienced coaches from the DAVE collective will provide insights into their working methods and demonstrate how beats are created, sounds are designed and tracks are arranged. There’s something new to try every day – give photography, DJing, videography and music looping a go. Thanks to funding from “Poptogo”, this programme is free of charge. It starts at 9.00 am every day, with lunch and drinks included. To register or for further information, visit: https://www.dave-festival.de/the-dave-experience/.

For fans of 3D printing, there’ll be another chance to have a go from 5 August to 7 August. At ‘PIXEL-ART’, this time you can create a glowing pixel image, a mini-meme, your own display board or your own digital clock. Participants will learn how to control an LED matrix and, for example, design a display board using a 3D printer. By programming a microcontroller, they’ll make the pixels light up or move! Everyone decides for themselves whether the end result will be a time display, a painted picture or a funny animation. The programme is suitable for children aged 11 and over. It is open to anyone with no prior experience, as well as those who have previously attended a 3D printing holiday programme. You can register for these three days at the library. The cost of materials is €5.00.
This initiative is co-funded by tax revenue based on the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament.
