Traffic routing during the Karl May Festival

For this year's Karl May Festival from 19.05.2023 to 21.05.2023, some road closures and the associated diversions and stopping restrictions will again be necessary. It is expressly pointed out that the stopping bans must always be observed for reasons of public safety and order. The use of public transport is therefore particularly recommended.
The first preparatory work will be carried out in Lößnitzgrund a few days in advance, meaning that slight obstructions may occur earlier.
Lößnitzgrundstraße will be closed for the preparatory work and for the festival itself from
19.05.2023, 06.00 a.m., until 22.05.2023, 06.00 a.m., fully closed to vehicle traffic.
Visitors to the festival are requested to use the car parks opposite the Landesbühnen Sachsen and at Kaufland on Weintraubenstraße 31. There is only limited parking available in the immediate vicinity. Please follow the instructions of the city administration staff.
On Sunday (21.05.2023), the traditional star rider parade will take place from approx. 10.00 a.m. to approx. 12.00 p.m. on Meißner Straße near the "Weißes Roß" small railway crossing. This will result in a temporary full closure of Meißner Straße. Drivers should therefore take a wide detour around the area. A diversion will be signposted.
