Invitation card finissage

Holiday offer February 2026

Dear pupils and students,

We cordially invite you to an artistic project at the Stadtgalerie Radebeul, Altkötzschenbroda 21.

What do family, friends and acquaintances mean to you? What feelings come up in you when you think of them? What does it mean to you to spend time together? We want to explore this together with you. Whether on paper, cardboard or canvas - with pencil, brush, spray can, glue or other materials - let your thoughts and feelings become visible!
During the winter holidays, the gallery will once again be transformed into a laboratory of the imagination, a workshop full of imaginative ideas. Bring your emotions, thoughts and memories, express them and create art together.
We look forward to your creative contributions and to discovering together the meaning of closeness and community in colour and form!

In the period from 9 to 13 February and from 16 to
20 February, work will take place in the form of workshops in the rooms of the Stadtgalerie, as all artworks will be created on site. Your works will then be presented in an exhibition from 3 to 22 March.
On 18 March at 5 p.m., we want to celebrate the project with you, your parents and friends.

Workshops with the artists will be offered on the following days:
possible dates in the 1st holiday week
09 - 11 February (three-day workshop for young people in cooperation with JuCo Coswig), 10.00 - 13.00,

The Heimatstube Kötzschenbroda is located in the former extract house of a historic three-sided farmhouse. On two floors with an exhibition area totalling 32 m², visitors can learn about the development and everyday life of Kötzschenbroda.

Although the town of Radebeul has only existed in its present form since 1935, the history of the original community of Kötzschenbroda dates back to the early 12th century. Wars, epidemics, floods and fires have repeatedly destroyed and resurrected the village. It was eventually saved from demolition and decay.

The Auszugshaus was the first renovated building in Altkötzschenbroda to be inaugurated in 1993. Since 2006, this small half-timbered building has been home to the "Heimatstube Kötzschenbroda", which has been run on a voluntary basis by the Kötzschenbroda "Heimatabend mit Frühstück" working group since 2020. This group develops and designs a special exhibition every year and organises guided tours through the Heimatstube and around the Anger.

Excavation finds, personal memorabilia, pictures and text documents are presentedin the permanent exhibition . Many of the exhibits come from local residents of Kötzschenbroda.

The current special exhibition can be visited from 7 September 2025 to 31 August 2026. It bears the ambiguous title "Shop closing in Kötzschenbroda?" and looks back 140 years, but also addresses the current difficult situation of trade today.

Guided tours are offered through the permanent and special exhibition, which can also be combined with a tour of the village green in Altkötzschenbroda.

The Heimatstube Kötzschenbroda is structurally affiliated to the Stadtgalerie Radebeul. It does not have regular opening hours. However, it is possible to visit by appointment at any time. The Heimatstube is also open for special events on the village green.
