The Saxon wine-growing region can look back on an impressive history spanning over 850 years. With a vineyard area of just 500 hectares, it is one of Germany’s smallest wine-growing regions.

That is why Saxon wines remain a particular rarity outside the region. The picturesque cultural landscape along the Saxon Wine Route – from Pirna via Dresden, Radebeul and Meissen to the Elbe wine villages around Diesbar-Seußlitz – is characterised by steep slopes, which are painstakingly tended by dedicated winegrowers working by hand.

The result of their passionate work is powerful, versatile and predominantly dry wines with a distinctive character.
