At street and town festivals, as well as international theatre and comedy festivals across Europe and overseas, these men in tailcoats on stilts captivate their audiences: IRRWISCH are acrobats on stilts and poets at heart.

They stop at nothing, climbing into first-floor flats, swapping bicycles for furniture, and hijacking buses and trams.

But they give everything back – usually to someone else, to bring them joy. For that seems to be their sole aim amidst all the chaos they cause (the nicest kind since people first began to fear it).

Wegenstreit’s guests don’t create chaos, just a different kind of order.
