"Rossini Flambé – a comic kitchen opera"

- Deutschland

Theatre and good food have more in common than you might think. Both are essential to life, and both are best enjoyed in company. This is the philosophy behind the Italian theatre company Teatro Due Mondi’s production ‘Rossini Flambé"’.

The play promises a lively succession of songs and grotesque situations centred on Mediterranean cuisine and love, which are blended together like the ingredients of a sophisticated recipe. The ‘comic kitchen opera’", as the play is described in its subtitle, tells of the Italian way of life, the cuisine and music of a
country whose people are renowned for their passion, zest for life and fiery temperament.

“For Italians, the kitchen is the ultimate place for being together,” write the artists, “which is why *Rossini Flambé* is not only a hymn to love and good food, but also tells of the search for peaceful togetherness, which, despite all the rivalry and jealousy, becomes
."

Teatro Due Mondi was founded in Faenza in 1979 as an independent theatre company. The group’s plays are suitable for all audiences and can be performed in a wide variety of venues, including outdoors. The ensemble members are rooted in their traditions, yet at the same time are always open to new approaches, encounters and
cultures.

You don’t need to speak Italian to enjoy the performance. The play transcends language and is accessible thanks to brief translations into German.
