2,000 Christmas parcels for Obukhiv/Ukraine

09.12.2024

Another aid transport to Obukhiv in Ukraine took place in the past few days. As in the previous year, Kinderarche Sachsen, together with the Rotarians and Lions of Radebeul, called for donations in kind and money to pack Christmas parcels for the children of Radebeul's twin town. Many helping hands pitched in to make this heartfelt endeavour possible and bring a little joy to the children in Ukraine at this difficult time. "Every child has a right to a happy childhood and Kinderarche sincerely wishes the children and families in Ukraine a blessed and peaceful Christmas," said Matthias Lang, Chairman of the Board. That's why they doubled their campaign from last year to "2,000 Christmas parcels for Ukraine", with which they want to give a little hope and joy.

In two long human chains, they handed the 2,000 parcels to the large lorry behind the house, which then set off for Ukraine. The parcels were filled with stationery, toys, craft materials, care products, cuddly toys and, of course, sweets. The load also included children's pillows, children's sleeping bags, children's blankets, hygiene articles, torches, pens, bed linen, towels and medical supplies.

On Friday afternoon 06.12.2024, the lorry arrived safely in the city of Obukhiv.

With great gratitude, they send their warmest regards to all those who participated in this project.

Special thanks also go to the Luisenstift-Gymnasium and the Lößnitzgymnasium for their participation in this project.
