Lößnitzbach complex project - Construction work has been underway since the end of September

In the first steps, the construction sites were and are

• the construction sites were cleared and the necessary amount of woodland was cleared for this purpose
• archaeological excavations were carried out in the northern construction area
• the site was examined for explosive ordnance
• media on Kötzschenbrodaer Straße were relocated during construction
• the excavation pit for the bridge on Kötzschenbrodaer Straße and new small bodies of water in the Elbe floodplain were created
• Materials contaminated with harmful substances (e.g. asbestos) from the workshop building were professionally removed and disposed of, and the building shell was demolished.

Traffic and road situation:

There will be traffic restrictions in the area of the aforementioned bridge structure. The full closure of Kötzschenbrodaer Straße is planned until the beginning of May 2026. Diversions are signposted. Pedestrian access is guaranteed. Local public transport will be diverted for the duration of the closure.

There will be obstructions due to roadworks traffic on the road between Straße des Friedens and Weintraubenstraße. The road can still be used as a footpath, but construction vehicles must be watched out for. This also applies to cyclists, who should dismount for their own protection if necessary. In the short term, the path may have to be completely closed, but only for a short time.
