Construction work on asphalt carriageways
The civil engineering department of the city administration of Radebeul has commissioned the company Straßenbau K. Riemer Inh,
to carry out so-called surface re-treatments (OBN) on asphalt carriageways on the roads listed below in the Radebeul urban area:
- 08.09.2025 to 12.09.2025 (on two working days) Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße between Meißner Str. and tram crossing
- 11/09/2025 to 17/09/2025 (on two working days) Obere Bergstraße between Humboldtstraße and Terassenstraße
- 15/09/2025 to 24/09/2025 Hoflößnitzstraße between Meißner Str. and Augustusweg
- 15/09/2025 to 24/09/2025 Augustusweg between Hoflößnitzstraße and Gutenbergstraße
By applying a bitumen emulsion and subsequently chipping the surfaces, the existing cracks in the asphalt surfaces are sealed with the aim of preventing weather-related pothole formation (frost heave).
With this method, some of the chippings remain loose on the carriageway and are driven into existing uneven pavements by the "flowing" traffic. Dust formation cannot be ruled out during prolonged dry periods.
Road users are made aware of the loose chippings on the carriageway by the installation of appropriate traffic signs.
