Radebeul supports "Vaccination also protects the crop"
11.01.2022
"Vaccination also protects culture!" was created as a campaign by the Saxon State Theatres and the Dresden State Art Collections together with many other cultural institutions in Dresden. The city of Radebeul is also supporting this campaign and calling for vaccinations. "Radebeul attaches great importance to a wide range of cultural offerings. They are an important part of our identity and make a significant contribution to our quality of life," explains Mayor Bert Wendsche (non-party) and continues: "We hope that cultural institutions will soon be able to reliably reopen and are calling for a responsible approach. The pandemic-related closures have once again made us all acutely aware of the important role that cultural offerings fulfil. They are the lifeblood and define our human existence. Many of us have a deep longing for cultural offerings. Vaccination is currently an important prerequisite for getting things going again. We therefore support this campaign and would like to promote vaccination in a respectful way, but without creating coercion or anything similar. The decision should always be voluntary."
However, culture must be open to all people again in the medium term; dividing society is not helpful here, the Lord Mayor continued. Wendsche had already called for more mutual respect and patience in the current January edition of the official gazette and pointed out the possible consequences of a social divide.
