In addition to the actual administrative services, municipal facilities also form the core of the municipal cultural, leisure and educational landscape.

However, many of these services are not perceived as municipal services and citizens sometimes ask themselves: what is taxpayers' money being used for in the municipality?

The town of Radebeul would therefore like to draw attention to such services in a charming way with a wink.

The corresponding information boards are designed by the Radebeul graphic artist Lutz Richter, who has personified the city of Radebeul as "Frau Radebeul".

As a prelude, the first information board was installed today at the Radebeul public observatory, handed over by Lord Mayor Bert Wendsche and graphic artist Lutz Richter to the observatory's landlord Ulf Peschel.

"Frau Radebeul" nicely points out to visitors that 2/3 of the entrance fee paid is subsidised by the town of Radebeul. "It is important for us to show that the citizens of Radebeul are "trustors" by entrusting us with their tax money and that we as the city administration are trustees. We have the task of using taxpayers' money efficiently and sensibly, whether in road construction, in building day-care centres and schools or through cultural offerings such as the observatory," explained Lord Mayor Bert Wendsche.

The plan is to gradually equip all of the city's public facilities with a sign like this to emphasise the city's services.
