Secure connections for the time changeover

25.03.2021

Special timetable between Dresden and the Elbland region

Summer time starts again next weekend. "Despite the time change, passengers don't have to worry about their connections," emphasises Torsten Roscher, timetable planner at Verkehrsverbund Oberelbe (VVO). "Everyone will get to their destination safely by bus and train on the night of 27 to 28 March." The VVO's regional night bus service runs as usual from Dresden city centre to the surrounding area.

On Sunday night, the clocks will be put forward by one hour from 2 am to 3 am. "Because there is therefore no Postplatztreffen at 2.45 a.m., the regional night buses will run from Postplatztreffen at 3.45 a.m. to the surrounding area," says Torsten Roscher. "The night bus from Postplatz via Cossebaude and Gauernitz to Meißen therefore leaves Dresden at 3.50 a.m. summer time."

"Radebeul and Meißen are also easy to reach on the last S-Bahn train from Dresden," explains Torsten Roscher. "The train leaves Dresden at 1.05 am and reaches Meißen-Triebischtal at 1.44 am. The return journey to Dresden departs at 1.51 a.m."

Since 2003, the VVO has been financing regional night buses that connect Dresden with Radeburg, Ottendorf-Okrilla, Radeberg, Heidenau and Pirna, Dippoldiswalde, Wilsdruff, Freital and Meißen on Saturday, Sunday and public holiday nights. The lines are linked to the DVB AG trams and buses at important junctions such as Postplatz.
