Historical Village Green Fürstenhain

Fürstenhain is a village to the east of Altkötzschenbroda and one of the 10 original communities of Radebeul. It was built around 1550 on what used to be the outlying Electoral estate. The village comprised 23 plots of land. The resident cottagers cultivated leased land in the fields of the neighbouring villages and earned their living as craftsmen and traders or as vintners and day labourers on farms and vineyards in the surrounding area.

In terms of church and school, Fürstenhain always belonged to Kötzschenbroda. An agreement of 1839 created a community association to provide care for the poor, and fire-fighting and public safety services. In 1876 Fürstenhain and its then 285 inhabitants was completely absorbed into the municipality of Kötzschenbroda.
