The history of the town of Radebeul is both short and long. In its current form the town in the Lößnitz has existed since 1935. However, the documented history of the original settlements can be traced back to the 12th century, and the town has many more interesting things to offer than what is currently on display in the Radebeul museums.
The local history museum is intended to fill this gap. Visitors can learn something in the museum about the history as well as everyday life in Kötzschenbroda. Excavation findings, personal mementos, as well as picture, textual and (soon) sound and film documents are displayed on three floors (covering approx 30 sqm) of this former cottage belonging to a historic three-sided farm. All donations of support and assistance with research, equipment and maintenance are gratefully received!
Changing introductory talk on the topic: "Kötzschenbroda - an original settlement of Radebeul in flux" with a visit to the local history museum, and a walk across the village green.
