Canary Islands - Around the world in 7 islands

Everyone knows the Canary Islands: holidays, summer, sunshine - full beaches. More than 10 million tourists travel to the islands of eternal spring every year, but usually only see the edge of their swimming pool. Others don't even find their way to the archipelago: alternative tourists, backpackers and nature lovers are more likely to be drawn to Scandinavia, Patagonia or New Zealand - to places where the landscape is still wild and the people are genuine. A big mistake!

On a six-month hike, globetrotter André Schumacher found out: In truth, the Canary Islands are completely different from what most of us believe. For example, you can save yourself a trip to the moon. Likewise trips to the primeval forests of Costa Rica or the vastness of the Sahara.

The photo artist recounts the funniest stories, curious discoveries and hair-raising moments by candlelight and red wine: Does cucumber beer really increase your libido? What to do with a motorway tunnel given as a present? And what do six musicians who only have seven teeth between them actually sound like?

You can look forward to an extraordinary lecture - a mixture of photos, videos, time-lapse recordings and animated cartoons - and lots of fun!
