Some of us remember klezmer from our holidays in south-eastern Europe: the balance of melancholy and exuberance, underpinned by a distinctive rhythm, testifies to an immediate understanding of the world as a whole and to active participation. Klezmer thus radiates a positive philosophy that renounces all claims to power.
The major-minor mixture in klezmer, which sometimes seems strange to Central Europeans, also shows a distant kinship with the blues of the Southerners in the USA. The klezmer trio wants to explore the diversity that this mixture allows and take the listener into this atmosphere.
