Aurora - Wonders of the Northern Lights

Event for young people and adults

The aurora borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, is one of the most marvellous natural phenomena.
Auroras are rarely seen in our latitudes. Let the multi-award-winning show "Aurora" take you to the far north. Find out how auroras are created and what myths our ancestors used to explain the breathtaking spectacle in the nocturnal polar sky. astrophotographer Kwon O Chul created a special camera setup especially for this programme to immerse us in a magical world through these vivid images. The result is the first real-time images of auroras in 360° in the planetarium, with original footage of auroras filmed on board the International Space Station (ISS) rounding off the programme and making your visit to the planetarium an unforgettable experience.

In addition to the show, we explain the current starry sky in a live section. Here you can find out which constellations and planets are currently visible in the sky.
