Holger John - The artist & impresario
Drawing in a special way
- Deutschland
The artist Holger John, whose South American roots pulsate in every brushstroke, transports visitors into a world full of adventure and fantasy. Before their eyes, he brings the feather-adorned indigenous peace warriors, mounted cowboys, drunken cowboys and grinning gringos to life on canvas.
His pictures tell of donkey fleas, fabulous imaginary gold treasures, herds of bison chasing hummingbirds on the steppe and fish with razor-sharp teeth biting into steaming locomotives. With lust, gunfire, firewater, brushes and colour, Holger John creates a pulsating feast for the eyes that blurs the boundaries between reality and fantasy.
But Holger John doesn't just invite his guests to marvel - he encourages them to pick up a paintbrush themselves and artistically recreate the true stories of Karl May and his drinking companion Münchhausen. A visit to Holger John is a journey into a world in which art, adventure and community merge.
