Patron Nadine Menz

Dear visitors
Dear Karl May friends,
It is a great pleasure and honour for me to be the patron of the 33rd Karl May Festival in Radebeul and to be with you at the opening in May 2026.
Karl May's stories have inspired people of all ages for generations. They transport us to distant worlds and at the same time tell of something very close and familiar: of friendship across borders, of trust, of courage, of the longing for peace and justice.
For me, this is precisely where their timeless power lies. Every generation rediscovers these stories and brings its own perspective to them. In this way, they remain alive and can continue to build bridges between people, backgrounds and worlds.
In 2023, I had the honour of appearing on stage at the Karl May Games in Bad Segeberg as Nscho-tschi, Winnetou's sister and one of the most famous female characters in the Karl May cosmos. It was a great honour for me to be able to embody this role. Telling such an emotional story on this impressive open-air stage was a unique experience.
The special magic of the theatre is to feel every evening anew how the audience joins in, how people laugh, share in the excitement, are touched and can leave their everyday lives behind for a few hours. We were able to immerse ourselves together in a fairytale world in which great emotions, adventure and hope have their place.
The Karl May Festival here in Radebeul stands for precisely this special atmosphere: for community, for fantasy, for lively theatre in the open air. They bring people together and remind us how unifying stories can be.
My heartfelt thanks go to all the organisers and the many contributors who make these festive days possible with passion and commitment.
I wish us all inspiring, exciting and unforgettable days in Radebeul.
Sincerely
Nadine Menz
