A celebration of art, culture and urban regeneration on 10 May

On 10 May 2025, the nationwide Day of Urban Development, Bahnhofstrasse in Radebeul-Kötzschenbroda became a symbol of successful urban regeneration. In keeping with the motto "Vibrant places, strong communities", the town not only celebrated the inauguration of the Udo Lindenberg collage, but also the redesign of Bahnhofstraße and its historic railway subway - a project that combines cultural heritage, modern design and citizen-oriented urban development.
The festival was officially opened on stage at 4.00 p.m. and moderated by Dieter Beckert, known as a brachial romantic and Lindenberg fan. The afternoon was organised by numerous presentation stands, including the Rotary/Lions Club Radebeul, the Saxon Wine Museum Hoflößnitz, the Karl May Museum and the Landesbühnen Sachsen. The Kultur- und Werbegilde Kötzschenbroda e.V. provided entertainment with creative activities.
The Meißen district building authority also offered a guided tour of the construction site at the future home of the music school at Meißner Straße 285.
The Zwinger Singers and the saxophone orchestra of the Meissen district music school performed on stage. The Landesbühnen Sachsen presented a short programme. Street artists such as Carsten Langer, who spray-painted a portrait of Udo Lindenberg, and the Sanro Cirkus from the Radebeul Child Protection Association enriched the programme. In addition, a painting event organised by KunstWerk on the pavement invited visitors to join in.
Works by Udo Lindenberg were shown in a pop-up exhibition in the shops on Bahnhofstraße, including Galerie Walentowski and the former NKD shop. The egg liqueur mile and stalls such as the Stadtapotheke Radebeul and NOTschriftenverlag offered culinary and cultural highlights.
In the evening, "el Paniko und das Katastrophenorchester", Germany's oldest Udo Lindenberg tribute band, thrilled the audience. At 8.45 pm, the new mural in the railway subway was ceremoniously illuminated - a magical moment for all Lindenberg fans.
The Schloß Wackerbarth wine trolley, the wine hut of the Hoflößnitz winery, a barbecue stand from the Schempp butcher's and other stands with regional specialities provided refreshments. Guests also had the opportunity to vote in the egg liqueur competition.
