Monopoly Radebeul: 10,000 euro donation to the White House
15.04.2023
A belated Easter present for the White House: the youth centre in Serkowitz received a donation of 10,000 euros on Friday. Thomas Rohe and Raimund Dinglinger, who launched the first Radebeul Monopoly at the beginning of March, presented the cheque to Matthias Kowarzik.
At the end of 2021, the Radebeul-based company Credicon GmbH, led by Thomas Rohe and Raimund Dinglinger, began developing a customised approach for a special edition of Monopoly in cooperation with the Düsseldorf games publisher Winning Moves. The Radebeul Monopoly variant is unique due to the integrated hidden object picture, which was designed by the well-known Radebeul cartoonist Lutz Richter. In addition to the fixed streets, which are reflected in the ten districts of Radebeul, the fields known as railway stations are depicted above the vineyards of Radebeul. An accompanying booklet, based on the new city encyclopaedia, explains streets and locations in more detail and offers plenty of background material. Another special highlight is the Lößnitzdackel, a special figure cast in pewter and a tribute to the steam-powered narrow-gauge railway. After the first sales phase, which started in March, only just under 700 of the total of 4,000 games issued are still available.
Thomas Rohe & Raimund Dinglinger: "It was clear from the start of our project that we wanted social organisations in the city to benefit from the success of Radebeul Monopoly. That's why five euros from every purchase went into a special pot. The work that is done locally in various institutions in our city is extremely important and worth supporting." Mayor Bert Wendsche thanked the makers of the game and is particularly pleased about their commitment to children's and youth facilities in the city. "With the donations to the White House, the music school and the "Anne Frank" special school totalling €20,000, many projects can be implemented for which there would otherwise be little or no "room for manoeuvre" in the truest sense of the word. Such a strong commitment to the city and to youth work is extremely good and makes us particularly happy."
"We are delighted that we were able to convince Mr Dinglinger and Mr Rohe to support us with a generous donation for our "Free spaces for young people" project in our building! What we organise with young people always has to be sustainable. We consider this to be a cornerstone of youth work," says Matthias Kowarzik, Managing Director of JuCo soziale Arbeit gGmH, which runs the White House on behalf of the city of Radebeul.
Monopoly Radebeul is available for 59.50 euros from the website www.radebeul-spiel.de, the tourist information centre and selected partners.
