Authorisation to use the sports and play areas at Luisenstift/Zillerstraße and Sachsenstraße

03.08.2023

The sports fields at Luisenstift and Sachsenstraße can now be used again.

Following completion of the renewal of the plastic surface and new lines, the basketball posts at Luisenstift have also been renewed and two football field goals have been installed. A shot put ring and two new long jump bars have been added to the facility, which is intended for school and leisure sports. The noise protection on the ball catch fence also had to be repaired. The Knibbe landscape architecture firm was responsible for the planning and construction supervision, while Hausdorf and Nehlsen carried out the work.

Minor ancillary work such as the renovation of the entrance area on Zillerstraße with the addition of bicycle parking racks is still outstanding. The total costs amount to around € 280,000.

On Sachsenstrasse, the substructure, which had been penetrated by roots and was therefore partially raised, had to be replaced. Root barriers will prevent this in future. Once the asphalt base course had been laid, a new plastic surface was also laid and the lines renewed. In addition, the faulty bolt gates had to be replaced with new, more robust ones. The planning and construction supervision was carried out by the landscape architecture firm Dr Eichstaedt-Lobers and the work was carried out by GLF Landschaftsbau Frey from Moritzburg, Boxdorf.

The total costs amount to around €135,000. Minor remaining work such as path construction, dismantling the construction road and closing the fence system will be carried out soon. The installation of bicycle parking racks in the entrance area is also still planned.
