Opening to traffic Mittlere Bergstraße between Spitzgrundweg and Coswig city limits

22.04.2021

On Friday, 23 April 2021, the Mittlere Bergstraße between Spitzgrundweg and the Coswig city limits will be reopened in the afternoon (approx. 2 pm).

This means that the Mittlere Bergstraße will be passable again.

The road construction work could begin immediately after completion of the new combined sewer by WAB R+C (Wasser Abwasser Betriebsgesellschaft Radebeul + Coswig GmbH) in December 2020. They included the fundamental expansion of the road pavement in asphalt construction with renewal of the road drainage system and the construction of new pavements on both sides with a concrete block paving surface.

When the final approx. 260 m long section of the Mittlere Bergstraße was extended, approx. 1,400 m² of asphalt was laid for the carriageway and 1,100 m² of pavements including access roads were newly constructed. The construction work was carried out by the company EUROVIA Verkehrsbauunion from Radeberg. The construction costs for this section totalled approx. 650,000 €.

With the completion of construction, the Mittlere Bergstraße / Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße was fundamentally expanded over a total length of approx. 973 m between October 2019 and April 2021.
