Private households and a large number of commercial businesses (e.g. restaurants, hotels, administrations, hospitals, freelancers, agricultural businesses and craft enterprises) are entitled to yellow bins. Applications must be made directly to Nehlsen.

Only empty packaging waste made of plastic, metal and composite materials (lightweight packaging) belongs in the yellow bins.

Lightweight packaging includes, for example, yoghurt and quark pots, fish tins and the lids of jars, milk and juice packs. The packaging must be empty but not washed out. Packaging that consists of several materials should be separated into individual parts; for example, the aluminium lid of yoghurt should be completely removed from the plastic cup, chocolate wrappers should be separated from the aluminium foil - the paper should be disposed of in the paper bin. Packaging should not be put inside each other.

Incorrectly filled yellow bins, e.g. with non-packaging or residual waste, will be marked with a red sticker by the waste disposal company and will not be emptied. The user of the bin must re-sort them.

Sales packaging made of glass belongs in the glass container (recycling container). It is important to pay attention to the respective colour - white, green and brown glass. Different coloured glass, for example red or blue, is disposed of with green glass. Objects made of glass, for example a vase or a drinking glass, do not belong in it.
