Lößnitzgrundbahn and Weißeritztalbahn out of service on 16 May

11.05.2021

On Sunday 16 May 2021, the Weißeritztalbahn and the Lößnitzgrundbahn will be out of service. The Sächsische Dampfeisenbahngesellschaft (SDG) is using buses as a replacement. The reason is the bundled coronavirus vaccination for employees.

SDG is a subsidiary of Regionalverkehr Erzgebirge (RVE), which has offered all employees a vaccination programme for next Sunday in a bundled campaign. Railway operations manager Mirko Froß: "We are delighted that so many of our colleagues are showing interest in the coronavirus vaccination. Unfortunately, this means that train services will have to be cancelled for the initial vaccination."

In coordination with the Upper Elbe Transport Association (VVO), SDG has organised rail replacement services with buses. The timetables are currently being updated and will be available from tomorrow at www.vvo-online.de and on the SDG website at www.loessnitzgrundbahn.de and www.weisseritztalbahn.com.
