Radebeuler Kultur-Bahnhof, Thursday 14.03.19, 19.30 Reading and discussion with the author Roland Seidl "Where is Alex?"
12.03.2019
Roland Seidl's book "Wo ist Alex?" deals with life after death and is labelled as a "story (not only) for children".
The main character, Alexandra, is a bright and wild child who dies in a road accident. A car was apparently far away, but was travelling too fast. The reader experiences what life after death feels like. "Everything is different".
Despite the serious subject matter, Seidl manages to make the reader smile at the end of the story. The author emphasises the point of his story with Goethe's quote "People are not only together when they are together, even the distant, the isolated lives in us." Roland Seidl knows what he is writing about - he himself lost his son in a motorbike accident. The author, who was born in 1952 and worked as a teacher for many years, has lived in Dresden for several years and, in addition to writing, is also passionate about music and photography.
