Tomb of Karl May

Karl May's tomb was created between 1902 and 1903 based on an idea of his second wife, Klara Plöhn. The ancient Nike Temple on the Acropolis in Athens served as a model. The gravestone was designed by the architect Paul Ziller from Serkowitz, and the construction work was carried out by the Ziller Bros.

Karl May, whose wish it actually was to be buried in the garden of his property, was buried in the tomb on 03.04.1912.

The tomb of Friedrich Eduard Bilz is located directly next to May's grave.
