"Lügenmuseum" - Museum of Lies

In the former Gasthof Serkowitz, one of the oldest inns in Lößnitz, visitors encounter miracles and impossibilities. The Museum of Lies by artist Richard von Gigantikow is dedicated to truths and illusions that have no practical use. In a collection of things that do not exist, the exhibits play with the senses of the viewer, challenge his general knowledge and let him become part of the staging. For example, one encounters the psychedelicha Maschinka, who wants to trace the meaning of emptiness and nothingness and who caused the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 during her first mission.

Many of the exhibits carry the spirit of resistance against the GDR regime, such as the Cathedral of Socialism, which thematises the lies of GDR history appearing in a pink light.

The museum, which is unique in the world, sees itself as a constantly growing Gesamtkunstwerk that stimulates visitors' imagination and contributes to cultural education.

Tip:
Immortal Elvis
A junk dealer talked the museum into a picture of Elvis. Smiling, he could not be caught dead. He can now continue to sing immortally in his cupboard.
