Landesbühnen Sachsen -Saxony State Theatre

Saxony's largest travelling theatre offers an extensive programme all year round with around 600 performances in one season at the main theatre in Radebeul, on the numerous side stages throughout Saxony and at the Felsenbühne Rathen. The multi-band theatre, which has existed since 1945 and is headed by artistic director Manuel Schöbel, performs well-known operas and operettas. For this purpose, the Landesbühnen have been cooperating with the Elbland Philharmonie Sachsen since 2012. The dance ensemble enriches the demanding repertoire of the Landesbühnen with its exciting dance evenings by choreographer Carlos Matos. The drama ensemble, directed by Peter Kube, offers classical and contemporary plays that appeal to every age group. The programme ranges from tragedy to comedy or musical.

At the Felsenbühne Rathen, the Landesbühnen Sachsen have been committed to Karl May, the most famous Radebeul resident, for years.  Of course, the legendary "Freischütz" by Carl Maria von Weber and many productions for children are an integral part of the programme in Rathen.

People with a recognised severe disability receive a reduction or discount at the Landesbühnen Sachsen.
