Art Collection
Collection of important works by artists who were/are resident in Radebeul or whose work is directly related to the city of Radebeul.
The foundation is formed by a historically grown stock of paintings, watercolours, pastels, drawings, graphics, collages, sculptures, sculptures, objects, photographs and artists' books, which came into the possession of the city through donation or purchase. The artworks are complemented by designs, models, posters, catalogues, original manuscripts as well as visual, textual, audio and film documents.
The art collection is affiliated with the City Gallery. Exhibits from it are presented to the public in the form of special exhibitions at irregular intervals.
The term "Municipal Art Collection" was introduced in 1992. Since then, there has been systematic maintenance, processing and expansion of the collection, which currently comprises approx. 1,500 works of art by over 100 artists.
