Radebeul is once again bathed in Christmas splendour with the illumination of the village green in Altkötzschenbroda. Experience three Advent weekends full of contemplative anticipation and festive Christmas romance!
Christmas carols are played live or sung together with the audience. The stalls offer handmade goods. The crackling flames of the fireplaces spread cosy warmth and bring people together. The spicy hot mulled wine comes from local winegrowers and warms the hands from the outside and the mind from the inside. Traditional contemplation far away from the hustle and bustle of the holidays and the joy of cultural and culinary delights in a family atmosphere also characterise Radebeul during the Advent season.
It's not just the Christmas trail of lights and the nativity scene that light up the town. Children's eyes also light up in the craft and baking workshops, in the fairytale cellar, while blacksmithing or on reindeer dressed up as ponies.
Every weekend, a different unique Christmas market character makes a guest appearance in the puppet show and literally puts on a show. Father Christmas also drops by, of course, and looks forward to opening the wish list letterbox.
By the time the festive choral songs start to ring out from the Friedenskirche church, nobody can escape the Christmas spirit. Oh, merry Christmas...
And please note that the shops in Bahnhofstrasse and on the Altkötzschenbroda village green are also open regularly between the Christmas market weekends. They are easily accessible by car via the "An der Festwiese" car park.
