Day of urban development

A celebration of art, culture and urban regeneration on 10 May

On 10 May 2025, the Day of Urban Development, Bahnhofstrasse in Radebeul-Kötzschenbroda became a stage for successful urban regeneration. As part of the motto "Vibrant places, strong communities", the town celebrated the opening of the Udo Lindenberg collage and the redesign of the street and the historic railway subway.
The celebration began with an opening speech by Dieter Beckert and was accompanied by numerous stands, including the Rotary/Lions Club, the Saxon Wine Museum and the Saxon State Theatre. The building construction office of the Meißen district administration offered a guided tour of the construction site in the new music school building. The Zwinger Singers and the saxophone orchestra performed on stage, while street artists and the Sanro Cirkus provided entertainment.
A pop-up exhibition of Lindenberg works was shown in the shops on Bahnhofstrasse. Culinary highlights were on offer at the Eierlikörmeile and at stands such as the Stadtapotheke and NOTschriftenverlag. In the evening, the Udo Lindenberg tribute band "el Paniko und das Katastrophenorchester" delighted the audience before the new mural in the railway subway was ceremoniously illuminated. Regional suppliers such as Schloß Wackerbarth and the Schempp butcher's were on hand to provide refreshments.
